Tongariro Ski Club is one of the oldest on Ruapehu and was founded in 1932 when a five-room hut was built at the Top of the Bruce. In 1995, the Whakapapa Lodge was rebuilt to provide a modern first class facility.
The Ohakune Lodge was built in 1985 to cater for additional members and to take advantage of the Turoa ski field, which many of the snowboarding members of the club prefer.
The club is fortunate to have the services of many competent and dedicated members who have a spirit of sharing and participation. A committee of elected members takes responsibility for maintaining the strong financial status of the club.
Senior members may book friends into the lodges. Children automatically become members at 5 years of age and may transfer to senior membership as young as 18.
The club has always provided the best facilities for its members and their guests.
